Conventional offshore fishing and FAD fishing are different trips
A standard full-day charter from Herradura or Los Sueños searches accessible offshore water for marlin, sailfish, tuna, dorado and wahoo. The exact distance changes with the bite, and a full day gives the captain more flexibility than a half day.
FAD and seamount fishing is a specialized, much longer-range experience. Depending on the destination, it can require an overnight or multi-day itinerary, a suitable vessel, additional fuel, sleeping arrangements and different pricing.
Range, cockpit and crew matter more than appearances
For a dedicated marlin trip, consider the boat’s offshore range, cruising speed, fishing cockpit, shade, restroom, tackle and crew experience—not only its length.
