About the Satisfaction
The Satisfaction is a 30-foot Topaz sportfishing boat offering a strong combination of traditional offshore capability, diesel power and onboard comfort for private fishing trips from Herradura Bay near Jacó.
Powered by twin 240 HP Yanmar turbo-diesel engines, the Satisfaction has the range and sportfishing setup needed to chase Costa Rica’s famous offshore species while remaining versatile enough for productive inshore trips.

Satisfaction Boat Specifications
A Traditional Twin-Diesel Sportfishing Setup
The Satisfaction sits between a smaller center-console charter and a larger sportfishing yacht.
Its twin-diesel configuration gives the boat a traditional sportfishing feel, while the 30-foot size keeps the experience private and practical for smaller groups.
For offshore trolling, dual outriggers allow the crew to spread multiple baits and teasers behind the boat while searching for sailfish, marlin, tuna and mahi-mahi.
If your main goal is sailfish, marlin or tuna, a full-day charter gives the captain more time to locate productive water and adjust the fishing plan throughout the day.
More Comfort for a Day on the Water
One of the biggest advantages of the Satisfaction over a basic open center console is its onboard comfort.
- Full marine restroom
- Shaded area
- Up to five anglers
- Traditional sportfishing layout
- Diesel power
- Professional fishing equipment
This makes the boat worth considering when you have children, women, first-time anglers or anyone in the group who would appreciate more protection from the sun and access to a proper restroom.
Half Day or Full Day?
Full-Day Offshore Fishing
If sailfish, marlin, yellowfin tuna or mahi-mahi are your priority, the full day is the stronger choice. Jacó’s offshore grounds can require a run before the fishing begins, so additional time on the water gives your crew significantly more flexibility.
Inshore Fishing
For roosterfish, snapper and other coastal species, productive fishing areas are much closer to Herradura Bay. Inshore fishing can therefore work well for anglers who prefer a shorter day or want to spend more of their time actively fishing rather than traveling offshore.
Departure From Herradura Bay
The Satisfaction operates from Herradura Bay beside Marina Los Sueños, just north of Jacó.
This location gives the boat access to the same productive Central Pacific offshore waters fished by boats departing from Los Sueños Marina while also providing quick access to Jacó’s inshore reefs, islands and coastline.
If you’re staying in Jacó, Playa Herradura or at Los Sueños Resort, tell us where you’re staying when requesting the charter and we’ll provide the appropriate meeting and pickup instructions.
The fishing grounds are essentially the same. The main differences are the boat, departure point, amenities and budget.
Experienced Anglers and First-Time Fishermen Welcome
You don’t need years of sportfishing experience to enjoy the Satisfaction.
The captain and mate prepare the tackle, set the fishing spread and guide guests through the process when a fish takes the bait. Experienced anglers can enjoy the serious fishing setup while first-timers receive the help they need throughout the day.
